You have probably heard of this word “manifestation”, used interchangeably in words, writing, or on social media posts in various forms. But what does it mean? In simple terms, it is to turn your thoughts and/or dreams into reality. I like how Dixon, L. J. et al. (2023) defines manifestation in their study as it creates a nice visual:
Much like a radio transmitter, a person’s thoughts and emotions transmit invisible yet powerful messages. These messages are received by a higher power (the universe, God, a higher self, depending on one’s spiritual outlook) and these powers send back to the person material experiences that match the original thoughts and emotions. Thus, a person can harness this reciprocal process to deliberately manifest whatever they desire.
Why is this such a popular topic, and why now? Our society has a growing interest in becoming socially influential and becoming successful–whether its success in achieving personal satisfaction through fame, or success in building empires to attain financial freedom. Life is becoming harder and harder and being able to afford a normal life is considered a privilege. This new era gives importance to improving mental health and seeking benefits from positive thinking, as a way to cope and go on. After overcoming the turmoil of the previous pandemic, we are moving forward with a new way of thinking–more open, more outside of the box.
Who am I to talk about this? I am just a regular person who likes to daydream and seek wisdom. Since I was a child, one of my hobbies is to observe and ponder about life itself, and until now I love all things philosophical. And although I’m not that old (or so I think), I learned that I manifested everything I have and accomplished in life. As early as I remember, I dreamt of living in a better, safer place where I could be what I wanted to be; and I ended up moving to the perfect country. As a teen, I dreamt of having a happy, carefree lifestyle, where I could explore the world and meet as many friends; and so I did it on my own terms (because at this stage nothing is more important than independence) and gained so much experience! As a maturing adult my goal was to achieve a dual career, something that feeds my character, and something that offers service to heal others. And so I did; I performed on stage musically while I worked as a nurse. As an adult, I wished to finally meet the destined love of my life–and he came to the right place at the right time. When we started building our lives together, I started to make sure I do this right and put it in writing. Five years later, I found my very first Samsung tablet again. To my shock, I found my old notes! I totally forgot that I wrote my dreams-goals-wishes, each with a specific timeline, and all came true. I had goosebumps! I realized that this is what they mean by manifestation. We REALLY started a family in 2015 (got married and had our first baby), bought our own house in 2016, traveled in 2017, had our second baby in 2018, explored another career path in 2019 (learned to blog), advanced nursing in 2020 (specialized), and the list went on.
How to do this? Honestly there are many variations to go about this, because I believe we each have our own magic. For those who value science based (or evidenced based research, like my fellow medical professionals), you may want to read the blog linked below, written by Tchiki Davis, Ph. But if you are curious about my own guide to manifest and you resonate with my vibe, give this a go:
1. Write or Draw IT.
This depends on how you visualize things. The idea is that your thoughts have to be reflected in a physical form, made by you. Your own hands to make it and your own eyes to validate it. This is like grounding your vision, so that it is here on earth (and not just in your head).
2. Activate IT.
This is done by putting your signature energy to it. Have a wonderful feeling as you write this, and really own that amazing feeling, that it’s already there or already yours! Take note that I said wonderful, which means your feeling must be elated and positive!
3. Believe IT.
Have faith! This is letting the universe work with you by letting it be. We can pray for it, and go with the flow of the everyday. If something happens resulting in delays, let it be. Trust me, I am still waiting for those millions! Because, ultimately, it works by divine timing (and this divine timing is a blessing in disguise!).
4. Infuse IT with Good Intention.
As long as you are not hurting anyone in the process, you will be rewarded, again, in its perfect timing. Use it for malicious intention, and you better believe it’ll just come back to you; the law of karma is real.
5. Seal IT with Gratitude.
Give thanks that you are alive and present in the now, and able to look forward into the future! Because you are blessed with a precious time to be here on earth right now, regardless of your purpose.
That’s it! Have fun and let me know how it goes for you!
Much Love and In Service,
